The WineWalls team recently completed this beautiful basement wine cellar installation in Hampshire. Using solid oak finished in Danish Oil, the wine racking consisted of storage for over 750 bottles plus some unique features including understairs cupboards on bi-fold hinges.
Following a couple of design revisions through consultation with the client, the installation was carried out over 3 separate days to ensure the sizing of the cupboards under the stairs was correct. Due to this basement retaining much of its original features including the beautiful original brick floor, the fitting team had to carefully size and locate the plinths and tops, using infills and trims to even out the levels.
The wine racking itself contained various features from our wine case racks complete with slide-out shelves, to the amazing diamond cube feature storage racks and integrated feature bottle shelves above the worktops, displaying the bottles on an angle with the LED lighting set back from the edge so it is directed above the bottle labels.
The LED lighting that WineWalls use contains the latest silicone technology to ensure no dots show, providing an even spread of light. Diffusers are fitted to further enhance the light effect, all of which is remotely controlled and dimmable.
There were two sets of cupboards, both supplied in solid oak with shaker style doors and brass handles to match the client’s existing fittings. A set of full-height cupboards at the start of the wine racking provides the client with a large and functional storage area. The understairs set of cupboards look amazing, perfectly set into the space under the staircase with three doors and plenty of storage space.
“I am very pleased with the job that WineWalls have recently done in converting a simple cellar to a beautiful wine room. The work was carried out in an extremely efficient and professional manner and the quality of the workmanship is excellent.”
