Stunning Under-Stairs Wine Display Project

WineWalls have transformed an understairs space into a beautiful wine display for a client in Surrey. Located in the large entrance hallway of the client’s home, the understairs space was originally a plain and dull area with only a side storage cupboard in use. The WineWalls team consulted with the client and agreed to design a wine display for the area that would include solid oak wine racking, glass doors and a small wine cabinet.

Working with the client through the design process, WineWalls supplied and installed the solid oak racking system with the following features:

  • Two feature bottle displays that present the wines on an angle with labels showing;
  • A row of larger individual ‘pigeon’ holes for boxed or larger champagne bottles;
  • A small wine case rack with slide-out shelves, with X cubes either side;
  • A small framed display box for a decanter and/or feature bottle, with a grey mirror to the rear;
  • Individual bottle holes in the remaining space to maximise capacity;
  • LED lighting subtly installed within the racking, supplied with continuous dimmable silicone lights operated by a remote control;
  • A small single-door Duvanox wine cabinet to the side, with matching plinth and infills.

The wine display was finished with the installation of two glass doors to the front, bespoke made to fit within the triangular staircase shape.

Features included:

  • 12mm toughened low iron glass;
  • Brushed nickel finish to door fittings;
  • Large T-bar style handles;
  • Glass to wall side hinges.

The finished wine display is a stunning addition to this client’s home, creating a beautiful showcase for their wine collection and a true wow-factor for visitors when entering the client’s home.
